Default 90Z-Bypass coolant to plenum/TB?

Ill never see icy weather to worry about the TB icing up, anyone do this, pros/cons? Ive always thought a cooler plenum is a better plenum.
Input appreciated.

I don't have first hand knowledge about the by-pass. I agree colder air = happier motor but...I remember this subject from another thread somewhere and the only "con" that stood out to me was that the cooling system becomes "non-self-air-bleeding" without the plenum/T-body cooling lines.

I was thinking...the only circulation of coolant I could find was thru the base of the plenum into the I/H(??), and thru the back side of the T-body. I don't want to seem like a "wise guy" but how much could that possibly affect the in-coming air temp? Is it worth it to not have a self- air -bleeding cooling system? I just was thinking that the coolant doesn't actually circulate thru the plenum, does it? I would think that the block + heads would transfer as much heat thru "conductive radiation" due to physical contact??

It would seem to me to be of real benifit you need to stop the coolant before the I/H's and eliminate the T-body circulation and provide for an intercooler? Okay I'm just thinking about "air-gap" type intakes for the old sb chevies from back in the 70's where the runners & plenum were raised away from the valley so as to eliminate conductive heat transfer?

Sorry to be so long & I proly don't know what I'm talking about! It just seems to me that the T-body don't have the surface area to transfer that much heat??

I have mine removed. No icing or other issues down to 30 degree air temps.
