Default Fuel Pump Assembly $$#$###@

Lost a brand new GM one in the box.

It somehow got mixed up with some trash boxes.

Guess, I'll have to go to partsladi for a spare

I have one of those on the shelf. What's wrong with them?

The assembly is made in China, mine failed with just a few hundred miles (primary failed while driving). partsladi would not refund nor replace without original box, which had already been discarded after initial install/test drive. Apparently that is not consistent with GM/ACDelco policy, leading to some question about legitimacy of OEM claims.

It is my understanding that its GM. Yes, its made in China and says so on the box. Tons of stuff is made in China, that is the problem today. GM sources out work to China.

It makes sense that they won't return a part without a box especially in an internet based business where they are not dealing face to face with a person.

To my knowledge, nobody else is selling these pumps so there really is no other choice. Yes, you can swap out the pumps but if you have damage to your assembly than it leaves you in a predicament. Thepartsladi is not a shoddy ebay seller, they have a great reputation and supply parts wholesale to all the big names, ecklers mid america etc.

The pumps come with a 2 year warranty which is pretty good. I'm not sure why you didn't just buy another unit and return the first unit in that box?
My guess is you made up your mind to replace the pumps anyway so why bother. If you had traded it back in you would have had 2 new working pumps as spares now you only have 1 and had to cough up probably another $200 for pumps. You probably didn't want a replacement pump because you have decided they are garbage. It's a personal choice though and I can't blame you based off of your experience.

That is why I'd like to hear from others who have purchased these to see how they are working out.

Personally, $250 is a steal - they were $1,200 from the dealer.

I am now the proud owner of a partsladi pump however, it will go on the shelf so I won't be able to give feedback on it.

Who all is using one and how long has it lasted?

Thanks.
