Re: VIN Decoder/rare options
I ran all the color combinations for 1992. The exterior color code totals match exactly to existing counts. Then I totaled each of the exterior/interior color combinations and they total up to the corresponding exterior color code count. So, all you '92 owner's who have been wondering, we now can tabulate exact counts for each interior/exterior color count.
The page I used is: http://www.compnine.com/rpocheck.php Then I drilled down to 1992 corvette 2-doors and search for the appropriate codes. For example, for zr1,41u,143 gave me the count of black/gray zr-1's (1 of 18). Thanks for the link. It's a neat tool.

Thanks for rubbing it in Tom.............I have red with saddle. I guess I'll dig a hole in the ground and put my head in it.

Re: VIN Decoder/rare options
Yea right, red/red was rare.
There are 73 1990 CORVETTE 2 DR vehicles (0.456%) matching your exact options list. There are 112 (0.699%) with at least as many options. |

Believe it or not, I was looking for a black with grey and settled on this red/saddle only because of the price ($15K in 2003 so I could buy it cash). I always had black cars and my Honda Ridgeline daily driver is black. When I was buying my Z I knew even less than I know now so I did not research about the rarity and options or years..........just wanted a Z. Now I know and can advise others, but I love my Z now because of blood, sweat and tears......and a lot of cursing. I'll be in D.C. 24th to 31st of Jan and posted for the crew on another post. I hope to see you then. |

Re: VIN Decoder/rare options
This link to this website was posted on the ACE (Arizona Corvette Enthusiast) Forum a couple of weeks ago. The C5 and C6 folks were all over this and the consensus was it was not too accurate. The C6 folks were getting unbelievable low production numbers on common colors on cars. So I would treat the total and %'s that you get are rather dubious. GC
Your mileage may vary

Re: VIN Decoder/rare options
I think I may have the rarest ZR1 option, no power passenger seat! I have never seen another ZR1 without it?
