The bolt..probably from on shipping pieces...the end metal brackets are bolted to the runners (metal decking) and they do come off on occasion. Start unpacking...you can remove the wrap, then most everything that is below and above the decking that is bolt to the end packing brackets. the columns weigh about 100 lbs each so you can move. Now...the decks are another story...one without the ram weighs in at 300 lbs and the one with the hydraulic ram weighs a little over 400 lbs. Unless you have some strong back weak minded gorillas suggest getting a engine hoist...works great...also some hoist straps (nylon type so you do not scratch the decks... strap a mid point and lift top deck slightly and then unbolt from packing brackets. Next do the lower deck.
This is a much better assembly guide than the one that comes with the lift>>

Read over first to become familiar with the assembly process and if you have any questions just let me know and I can walk you thru...suggest you have two others help you with the assembly... Took Phil, Rich and me about 5 hrs to assemble (learning curve plus it was HOT so lots a recuperate time).

Sorry Lee, Not going to be able to get over there today. We have too much last minute packing and running around left to do. Hope you get enough help to get the thing done. Can't wait to see the pix of it up and running in your garage.
Good luck
H
