Default Plenum coolant circulation Q's

I know, I come up with the most off the wall Q's, sorry guys!

Okay, so I got the ported stuff from Andy. I'm missing one of the tee's on the plenum, soooo I figure maybe I could just by-pass the T/B by using 90 els in place of the T-ee's. I figured use the existing hose system and just have it go to the 90 els and not have to carry the hose forward and make a union under the T/B to complete the circle.

I thought about that approach and realized that I've never seen anyone else do it that way, soooo I figure that I'm wrong in my plan.

If I must, I will pull one of my tee's from my plenum, TIA for any help!

Could you post a picture or something? I'm not sure what you are proposing? Going from a "T" to an "L", what is it that would no longer have a coolant hose routing to it?

It sounds like if you only changed one fitting, I don't see how that would work for the TB, since it has two hoses attached to it? I guess I can't quite follow?

Sorry, The OE coolant routing uses two tee's on either side of the plenum. The forward legs of the Tee's allow for hoses to route to either side of the front of the plenum, just behind the T/B mounting flange. The T/B flange on the plenum has two coolant holes, and I figure that is to make a circle in & out of the T/B and that well under that cover.

I was thinking that I could do a T/B by-pass by using two 90 el's as substitutes for the OE Tee fittings. Most T/B by-passes that I've seen just join the hoses that would have gone to the nipples on the plenum.

I guess what I'm conflicted about is if that circulation actually has "directionality" to it? If it does, then I can't delete the Tee's.

Thanks for your time Bob!

Tom

okay.. right side has a TEE, left is a 'L' you need to put the TEE ont he Pass side and L on Driver Side.. then run a bypass between them.

or plug the coolant holes the the IH and plug the line on the back right and be done

Thanks Jeff. Then I guess I'll just steal a Tee from my original plenum and leave the T/B by-pass for some other time.

I just can't for the life of me "see" where that circulation is directional. Ofcourse it would help if I went to actually look at my car so I could see what the factory did before posting up these stupid Q's. The truth of the matter is that I can't picture in my head exactly how the coolant gets to the plenum hoses. All I remember is the one hose from the fill tank going to the right rear of the plenum. I'm sorry I wasted everyone's time. This su@ks not having my car living where I live!

no worries.. the line from the surge to the plenum is to help 'burp' the system as well..

the 2 spots on the plenum where the coolant is are the high spots in the system.. so you would need to completely block one side if you did what I am thinking. since the TEE is missing, I would almost lock the coolant holes in the IH with 1/8" NPT plug

Ya know I hate to admit this.....before my operating system corrupted itself I had down loaded all of Bob's (Locobob) write ups on doing the thing with the T/B by-pass and the I/H's and the outlet tubes from our newsletters.

My corrupted HDD is still at Geek Sq & they are trying to save my data. I bought another HDD so I could get back on line...but as usual tomtom-dummy didn't write down the all of his log-in info! I'll never learn!

I wrote to George, but this is like the gazillionth time since I joined the registry that I had to ask for log-in info retrevial. I hold the record for that request! They'll proly like to not renew me when I re-up this yr...for being a PIA!
