The edge is scraped up pretty good from having the glass stored on that edge and it has a small dimple that looks like it was there before it was painted over at the factory. I'll try to take some pics

Well, got my wrench today and got the spanner nuts off and YEP the hinge plate is bonded to the glass and on to stay!!! Looks like I bought a piece of glass for nothing. It would be cheaper to try and remove the window tint than have the hinge plate re-painted

I talked to Gordon Killebrew years ago about removing the hinge plate to repaint it on a car I had and was told its next to impossible to get the adhesive to soften up to remove the plate.I would be interested in a spare hinge plate if somebody has one laying around.
