Dielectric grease
O.k. D-day minus one.
Tomorrow I am pulling the plenum to seal vacuum lines and replace fuel injector. When reconnecting electrical connector, would you recommend dielectric grease (jell). Is this to keep the moisture out? Hoes this stuff conduct electricity? I normally use the stuff around the spark plug boot. Same stuff? |

Re: Dielectric grease
There should be a seal to keep out moisture but I thinks they can fall out. I don't remember GM calling out to put anything on the connector.
Dialectric grease actually is nonconductive instead of a conductor, it only prevents corrosion, if it's already corroded the grease won't help with connection.

Re: Dielectric grease
I saw a post where someone was recommending some kind of jell/grease for connectors under the plenum.

Re: Dielectric grease
May have been me. I recommend a light coat of silicone grease on the connection and the rubber weather seal. It aids in resistance to corrosion & the seals ability to keep out moisture.
Also good on weatherstripping to keep it "fresh".

Re: Dielectric grease
I always use dielectric grease whenever possible/applicable. Never hurts
