Porting job coming along nicely...

With some pointers and techniques gathered from Marc H at yesterday's shin-dig, my IH porting time dropped from 3-1/2 to 1 hour each (today). I finished the first one, and here's some pix, if y'all R interested...

I'm following an established recipe, least anyone accuse me of being a "carbide cowboy" as flyin ryan likes to say. Here you're looking down teh barrel of the IH from the top, going toward the head. That big boss in the primary side is gone and a 36mm ball drops thru the port like poop through a goose!. The secondary, due to the injector seal being on the tip instead of the shank, requires a small "blip" in the runner (seen in the pic below).

One more IH, and then onto the heads. Then to the headers/exhaust after that. Oh, I got the itch bad now...Much worse after seeing Keith's car yesterday!

You better get going on that project. The nice weather is just around the corner. Had mine out today for the 2nd weekend in a row. It's suppose to snow next week so I thought that I would stretch the old girls legs a bit.
Sure missed that power during the winter The perma-grim has replaced the perma-frost......

Ha, ha...you like the 'Cowboy' line huh Paul. I consider everyone a 'Cowboy' until they put in a 1000 hours porting time, yes i'm serious, & once a person gets up there, they understand why. I took off my 'Cowboy Hat' long ago, unfortunatly . staring at a set of heads for hours on end is not at the top of my 'fun things to do' list. I've said it before, your doing really good, Paul, take your time & don't rush it, you've come to far now to start getting rammy. Glad the SE-6 burr worked out for you. It's in my top five favorites, i never have one too far away from my finger tips.

Looks pretty good Paul Do some blending around the secondary injector bosses to help the air get behind the injector spray pattern. Small cartridge rolls and round 1/8 dremel burrs and grinding stones work well for this.

Happen to have all that stuff handy, too. Gotta say, all the guidance from you, ryan, Pete, Marc, Lee, Dom and more here in the "Brotherhood" have made this project almost like familiar territory!

Back atcha, BTW. Those heads you did look fantastic! (I saved the pix for later reference, doancha know.)
