Default no back up lights?

I just purchased a 95 and the back up lights don't work, the bulbs and fuse are good, the switch at the transmission has been replaced but still no BU lights. The formal owner had a B&M shifter installed, any ideas on what could cause this or what to do next?

thanks

How hard are the switches to replace?

sounds like there is an "open" in the circuit. that could be a break in the wire somewhere or it could be a bad switch. if you have a multimeter and know how to use it, that would be the best place to start.

Did you make sure the little slug was still in the hole when you replaced the reverse switch.
