Default Engine mount shield (heat insulation) replacement

Does anyone have a source for the wrap that goes around the engine mount or have you been just replacing with Thermo-tec type products? My passenger side is kind of thrashed so I want to replace it.

Thanks!

Craig, I don't know that you didn't slready try this: I used my parts CD for the P/N: 10098129 = mount heat shield, motor. I went to a chevy site and plugged in the P/N @ P & G Chevy ( now Rowland Chrys/Jeep) and came up empty on the p/n search engine. I then used their "body/collision catalog and looked up motor mounts & associated parts & it gave this link:

https://www.partszoneonline.com/cata...ewer.php?id=4#

This is supposed to be the heat shield. I'm thinking that the p/n on the parts CD that I have has been superceeded? You can call these guys & talk with Marko in parts and they will give you the straight scoop, or call Tom Henry/superrior chevy & inquire with them.

Sorry I don't have a better answer for ya.

Tom

Tom,

Thanks a bunch. I did use the parts CD and queried all that I could including Tom Henry that replied even Kurt White does not have it. I guess I'll wrap it with Thermo Tec and call it a day. I really appreciate you effort to help and going above and beyond.

Aloha,

Craig

Craig!

I was thinking that maybe an aircraft mechanic....there has to be a place on a turbine that needs that stuff?.... or maybe that stuff they sell to put on the floor in cars to keep the heat out of the passenger compartment????

Okay, I'm outta ideas.... Sorry.

Hey, what about a C5 or C6???? The headers are almost as close in those cars...or at least they look to be that close in the vettes that I've seen. They have less room than our cars down there, maybe?

tomtom72,

Thanks, I'm still looking for a suitable substitute but I will call Thermo tec and ask about the starter insulation or like product that might work to do the same thing. Great ideas to consider and I have no idea if the C5/C6 has a similar insulation on their motor mounts. Thanks again.

Old thread I know, but did anyone figure out a suitable replacement? My wraps are oil-soaked and I think that's just an accident waiting to happen...
