MEMCAL PROM ID?
so I drove the Zr-1 around the block a couple times.. it Idled okay at first..
then at 2K. must be a vacuum leak.. looks like Secondary circuit.. I think. Anyway that is another post.. I pulled the MEMCAL out tonight and it has an orange handwritten label on says: 1990 ZR-1 any Idea who did this on their PROMs? I have a picture and will post it when I get it off the camera. Now how do I go about finding out the OEM broadcast code and which definition it is $8E or $8EA.. Thanks

Brad's chip had the memcals like that, not the Knock sensor circuitry like mine. Do the 91s have the Knock circuitry or external? Last edited by XfireZ51; 05-02-2008 at 12:06 PM. |

Re: MEMCAL PROM ID?
Jeff,
There's an easy way to tell if its an 8E or 8EA. If you have a stock 8A bin, do a compare with the bin you download from this chip. If it tracks until about the 7xxx addy, then its an 8EA. |

Re: MEMCAL PROM ID?
Whether it is 8E or 8EA does not matter. I want to know who.made the chip
