Default Slave cylinder 1990 ZR-1

Good morning, I'm putting a new slave, master cylinders on my car along with a new line. My question is, do I have to cut the end of the bleeder screw off? It seems to be very close to the floor pan. I have read of people putting later model slaves on the 1990, but I have 2 new slaves that came with the car. Thanks.

Do yourself a favor and get the later slave, it makes bleeding infinitely easier. The location of the bleeder on the early version makes it near impossible though there are ways to do it.

The Jan 2018 issue of HOTB #48 had an excellent article by Paul Workman on the subject. Here’s a copy of the page that discusses bleeding. The full article is worth a read before you start.

Thanks Cc, I already got it together, I bought the new 1990 high pressure line so since I already had the parts I just put it together. I did cut the nipple off the bleeder, the one I took off was the same way. Thanks for the link to the article, I'm learning as I go, I'm old school and like mechanical clutch linkage these hydraulic clutches feel like stepping on a Marshmallow. My drag car feels solid and you can feel the pressure plate, when I shift gears in it I never lift, not sure it can be done with a hydraulic clutch. Guess it's good enough fo what it is though.
I'm making progress, got the instrument cluster rebuilt by Bryan over at Batee. Com, he did a fabulous job it looks brand new. Reckon fuel injectors and assorted parts are next, vacuum line need attention and I'm building a pressure tank to prime the oiling system, maybe a couple more weeks will try to start her.
Thank you for your time and knowledge, greatly appreciated no doubt, I'm getting excited the closer I get to starting her! 👍👍🏁
