Front tire question?
I have a set of chrome A molds with BFG drag radials on the rear but need front tires. I found a guy on craigslist with a pair of brand new BFG G-force's in size 245 /40/17. I use to sell and install BFG's and I love that they give you things like rev/per mile and overall diameter. The 245's are 1 inch shorter than the 275's and at the max rim with of 9.5 of the ZR1's front rim size. Is there any reason I shouldn't run this smaller front tire?

Front tire question?
The difference in wheel speed between the front and rear may be enough to cause the ABS and ASR systems to become nervous and trigger their respective Driver Information Center warning lights.
I experienced this on my car when switching to staggered 18” & 19” wheel and tire sizes. Solved it by changing the rear ABS system reluctor wheels from 47 to 50 tooth. Sent from my iPhone using ZR-1 Net Registry

Re: Front tire question?
Thanks for pointing that out. On my 96 LT1 it had the 9" wheels on the front and the 9.5" on back with the smaller size tires on front so you couldn't rotate. I went with the chrome 9.5 A-molds and 275/40/17's all the way around and never considered the size difference and luckily never had any issues. I think I will stick with the correct tires on the front of the Z though.

Re: Front tire question?
If the speed difference constantly exceeds 4-5% eventually the ABS system flips out as does the ASR if you have a later model year ZR-1.
