Removing Tire Sensors on '95
I would like to remove the tire sensors from the wheels on my '95. Besides the constant light on the dash, will it hurt the computer or anything if I take off the tire sensors. Is there a way to disable the light other than removing bulb from dash?

It will not hurt you car's computer in any way, shape, or form.
In fact, if you drive anywhere near the speed "Where Life Begins", removing the wheel sensors could save your life. In the last couple of years I've heard of at least two wheel sensor failing at speed causing massive wheel imbalance. At warp 180 it would easily cause your car to become uncontrollable. As far as I know, you will have to remove the bulb from the DIS. I'm guessing that it is controlled by the BCM and not by the ECM (but I'm not sure), and that's why tuners aren't able to program it out of the DIS. There's not a fuse in the fuse box specifically for that function so you are out of luck there. Hopefully someone else will chime in with more information.

Re: Removing Tire Sensors on '95
On the '95 once you removed all four sensors from the wheels it will not set the light immediately. The light will set after the third time you've driven over 30 minutes. Once set, you cannot reset it without the sensors being in place.
Take the bulb out or the LTPWS module out. |

To clear the code simply ground terminal 6 (ground is terminal 4 and 5) 3 times in a row. It is a little tricky, but all it requires is a piece of wire. The procedure is explained in the Service Manual. If you don't already have it I can highly recommend. |

Bryan
Gordon Killebrew sells a diagnostic grounding plugs and manual kit for 94-96 vettes. I've used these plugs and manual several times to troubleshoot my car. |
