Is there a difference in performance from the 90 to the 91 model?
I know there are slight differences in the front fascia but how about performance?
Some people say that some of the 90s cam timing out of the factory were a little more aggressive than the other years.....I know the car got a little heavier as the years went on.... When they tested the 91 in the 1/4 mile it ran a disappointing 13.8 I believe...They attributed this to hot engine temps and maybe a slipping clutch.. Top end speed I believe was still high... Just curious.... |

Stock for Stock I doubt there is any noticeable difference in handling or speed.

Reds ha??????
You're confused, bless your poor little heart... Everyone knows that in the quarter reds are good for about a second and 5 mph better than any other color! Don't believe me? Start a poll... |

Re: Is there a difference in performance from the 90 to the 91 model?
Because the primary injector is sealed at the top instead of at the the bottom (tip) of the injector, when porting the IH the boss for the injector tip can be cut completely away on the 90 IH. removing that boss, some say, improves the air flow.
All things being equal, perhaps so. But, there's so much involved in the porting process besides that primary boss that whether there is one or not gets lost in the noise! That said and done, all else (porting/cams, etc) being equal, AND the car is RED...well it's no contest: RED WINS! (Take a poll! )
