plugs still look like new...but anyway, I have determined the problem. I checked all plug wires last week before disassembly and all coils were fine...so didnt check them again, but should have. So I checked; I have no spark to two cylinders. so i guess i need a coil pack...I knew I should have just bit the bullet and installed them while I was under there the first time. Are any aftermarket coilpacks worth getting over the factory units? Thank you all for your help.

Jarvis, The OEM/GM coils are most people's choice. Most of the aftermarket stuff is just hype, all brag & no real gains.

Tom
I agree 100% go with stockers.

If the secondaries are a PITA just yank them out.
No secondaries No Headache.

I run the MSD coils and I love them. I use them on my mustang too (29psi). I am coinfident that the MSD coils + ignition box will light ANY mixture. If you are going to replace them anyway, why not put in the best. While your in there you could wire in a box and have greater control over timing. Or if you are lazy you could wire in one of the amplifier boxes. They give no timing control but increase voltage to coils, are adjustable, and have only 3 wires to hook up. MSD DIS-4 has 20 wires to hook up, but it is simple.

Yes,it needs some chip changes, nothing a good tuner can't do.

I have done a before and after and saw a gain of 4-6 RWHP on my 350ci and about 8-10 RWHP on the big inchers, nothing to brag about.
Lost no low end power from 2k rpm & higher.

The best part you eliminate some high priced secondary parts.

Pete

Nice to know if you are having issues with the secondaries!

And as usual I believe you Pete-- no doubting Thomas here!

Just wanted to confirm for the others since I remember you telling me abt your removal of them on your POLO GREEN Z.
