Got, FYI for anyone else who gets stranded by this problem. Take keys out lock and unlock drivers door and security system resets and your on your way.

it's possible to hit the door locks and set the alarm system when getting back in. Happened a few times at the ncm when someone parked to close to me and I ended up hitting the door lock button trying to wedge myself in

Kevin, that. may be what happened. I really couldn't figure out what set it off but, worse yet I was disabled at a really busy gas station. Thank god a friend of mine who's a pretty good GM wrench was close by and after a few minutes figured it out. Lol ! Nothing more than a bit embarrassing.
