Try it like it is first. There is something really neat about a high Revving Naturally Aspirated Motor! If you have a "Need", the guys in your neck of the woods are making a neat & affordable 380 cube Stroker by offset grinding the Stock Cranks & using 4" Sleeves, no drama & complexities. My 74 is an L82 car with air that my Dad bought in 1975. I actually picked it out. Originally red with silver leather, it's now black because of the Miami Vice Ferarri in the 80's. We painted it together in about 86-87. The car only has 64k on it and while it's far from perfect it will be pretty fun when done. With my daughter here i am done with high end projects. Good luck on your project and let's see some pics and info when you have time.
