Hood struts/shocks
Hi all,
When I first opened the hood on our 90 ZR I noticed that there were no hood struts/shocks (the short ones up front). It appeared that the helper strut was the long one that doubles as the hood prop that holds the hood up. Some questions Did the 90 ZR actually use the short hood struts ? Is it possible to add the hood struts now ? Does anyone have a supplier in mind or with the struts shown on ebay work ? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks Don in VT |

Re: Hood struts/shocks
The 90's did not.
Several years later they eliminated the brackets. I added them, now I have to pull the hood closed. Bought them on e-bay. Steve |

Re: Hood struts/shocks
The correct short struts from "anyone" should work and retention isn't an issue. Simple flat washer and a "hair pin" clip, push nut or e-clip will do. The pin diameter should be something very close to 5mm.

Thanks WVZR1 and efnfast for the great responses. Issue solved and I will buy the struts on ebay.
