KEY STORYLINES


Tomas Enge is back driving for Petersen Motorsports/White Lightning Racing after a serious crash at St. Petersburg on March 31. Enge is experienced in Formula 1 and won the 2003 24 Hours of Le Mans in a Ferrari.

Jim Tafel (Tafel Racing) is still exuberant after his and his father's horse, Street Sense, won Kentucky Derby. Tafel Racing team has been on the podium twice in 2007 (Sebring and Houston).

Audi Sport North America was the winner of last year's race, is the defending Series champion and also defending 24 Hours of Le Mans champion (SLC last American Le Mans Series race before 24 Hours of Le Mans).

Risi Competizione (Ferrari) drivers Mika Salo (111 F1 starts) and teammate Jaime Melo have swept first 4 races in the GT2 class. The duo's first Series win together came at Miller Motorsports Park in 2006.

Penske Racing has captured back-to-back overall wins in the last two races making Series history as the first LMP2 team to do so(drivers Timo Bernhard & Romain Dumas).
