Could be Rotors or any number of other issues and the question did not get resolved which wheel (wheels) were involved.

Have Nitto 555s and smooth as silk first time balanced at 130 mph

Some cannot get the LT5 running smooth either but then again we do not know the history of either your Nittos or those LT5s I mention

FRONT.................................................. ....................REAR

don't be so sure about blaming Nitto, do you really know what your prior owner did with the car

Kevin in next post is talking about Vredisteins

Gee I wonder what reason that would be? The Vreds are exactly 12 1/2 inches wide. That 3/4 overhang on each side of the 11" wide rim. I highly doubt that GS-3's are an inch wider than that. I'm going to put my machinist hat on. Lets do the math. 315/25.4mm=12.401 wide
335/25.4mm=13.188wide
Now I highly doubt that a Dunlap GS-3 made for an 11" wide rim measures 13.5 wide. That would make it wider than a 335 tire. I think it's more of an optical illusion than anything. But that's ok I get it if some people don't like the looks of them. It's a preference purely on cosmetics and zero on performance. I have a good ZR-1 friend on this forum that doesn't care for the Vreds either only because he thinks the tread is just so strange looking compared to his Nitto 555's or whatever they are. So while we were sipping some beers in his garage and looking at each others tires I just said hey man! I don't care if the tire tread is in the shape of a chicks boobs. If they perform with the best tires available and the tests prove that then it's good enough for me. The first set I bought I completely destroyed them in one year. Not to mention I needed a complete suspension rebuild which I completed.

So I ordered a second set. And have chilled out.

They are not cheap tires in any way.

First I have no issues with the Verds they are great tires, I think the difference is the tread patch not sectional width.

Verds vs DSG3 both 315s

The DSG -3 have always had a sharper more square corner which gives the illusion that they are wider that's all. Both great tires. I've had them both. Just comes down to tread pattern for some. The first set I paid $745 a set shipped. The second set I paid $845 shipped. Now I see they are heading north of $947 a set. And this is from the same seller. So I'm sure they are not going to be the great bargain much longer but they are still well under the $1,200 mark.

I greatly value your opinions and expertise on this forum.
But I had the car at Marc's in September - shook like crazy going up and shook the same coming back after he worked his magic on the LT5. The TIRES FAILED the "Road Force Balance" the Chevy dealer did on them due to "bad sidewalls". I have checked and re-checked other parts of the car that could cause vibration and found nothing. So I have no reason to believe that anything is wrong other then the tires. And the kicker was the whole runaround that I and my local tire dealer here got from the tech guy at Nitto - was going to warranty them so dealer ordered the tires and had 2 of em on the car - then reneged and said they wouldn't warranty them. SO from my experience I have no faith in Nitto - and I have a set of tires that won't balance and I'm stuck until I can come up with a grand to buy new ones...

OK.......I am assuming (maybe incorrectly) you bought the car that way (poor tire balance).

I just went through trying to balance front tires after moving wheel weights around to clear C5 Z06 brakes on a 90'. It was NOT easy but finally got job done (not Nittos). It took a lot of wheel weights on the inside and finally outside of A-Molds.

It would be interesting to have someone near by with a Z switch tires with you and isolate which wheel/tire is the culprit or otherwise isolate the issue.

I do know that running a Z with wheel imbalance is NO fun especially on curves/cornering where it shows up the most. The width of the front wheels makes tire balancing even more difficult on a Z. And.....most difficult when you want ALL wheel weights hidden.

Let us know the outcome in your previous thread regarding your specific issue.

Only have 1/32" worn off the tread, and tires are 2011 mfr - but the sidewalls failed the "Road Force Balance" machine at my local Chevy dealer. Can't get Nitto to warranty them (long story in another thread here somewhere), and they won't balance. So if I have the $ this spring I will have to put something on mine so I can drive it over 60mph without shaking my fillings out. Probably look hard at those vred whatevers...
Just looked on E-Bay - they are $945 for the set now...
dont shy away from the vredestins. they are great tires. they are not cheaply made. get them while they are priced well. I am sure they will continue to increase in price until they match the expensive tires. they kick butt in every test against those other super tires. once you buy them you wont buy anything else. good luck. #3028

Dyno - correct assumption. They were that way when I got it. One of those things where I thought I could just go get em balanced and all would be well. (See what I get fer thinkin) Car is put up now til it warms up and all the salt is gone so I will tackle it again this spring... Thanks for all your help!
And yes I like what I see on the Vreds......

They have a little trouble holding the car down , just a little @ 130 mph.
