Default Transmission options?

Well I guess my trans didn't like the Mojave magnum (180.9). Cuzz it just locked up on me without warning. Has anybody used a T-56 magnum form Rockland gear. It's magnum has a better 5th & 6th ratio .84 & .67 (won't fall on it's face when I hit 6th) and good for 750 H.P. They can rebuild my old one & said that there were 2 torque/H.P ratings for the ZF. Should I try to fit T-56 or stay stock. The car has almost 100000 miles so I don't think it would hurt value & with the 4:10s should get me into the mid to upper 180's

What gear is/was the present differential that's been used for this? This is a "standing mile"? You need to build the rear so you can stay away from 6th for sure and maybe just a very short stint in 5th. I'd think you would build for the 1:1 4th if you did it regularly, 5th would just let it stretch a bit. If the car's a driver between events consider a pair of rears! I don't believe there's good reason to remove the ZF. With your miles and whatever gear you had what MPH/RPM were you actually seeing. Gear, MPH/RPM and at what distance the shifts?

Your location would hint that maybe you should be talking to Bill Boudreau but maybe there's a reason you haven't. Don't know.

The ZF6 will tend lock up on a good top end run if not properly set up. I suggest as above call Bill B (ZFDOC) you will be very happy with the majic he performs on these transmissions.

Your car is making some good HP, most likely 420RWHP, nice run! My Bill B Trans went 181.3 at Mojave, with to numerous to mention 1 & 1.5 mile runs, 40 k miles on rebuild, no problem, it is a long pull in 5th and yes falls on its face in 6th, but still did pick up some MPH, 6th is just good for MPG, my car has 4.10's, send it to Bill
