( and to think I complied with a mod's request to delete a pic of him in a Challenge Car in NCM Museum, so he wouldn't get in hot water)

Looks like nice equipment, but does it come with fully licensed GM software? Not just the required, by EPA regs, universal OBDI & II software?

The GM software is where all the functional tests reside that the FSM tells you to do in those diagnostic flow charts next to the DTC code page.

I'm not trying to be a wise guy, but the OEM's software comes at a high price. Most aftermarket cos don't pay to get the OEM software they just use the "generic" software that the EPA regs provide.

If I were looking for a "kit" to use on my Z and my Cobalt. I'd look to buy a used Tech1 or 1A or Mastertech. Bosch owns them now and offers rebuilding services as well as software up grades if you show up with GM's software that is out of date. It isn't free, but at least you can get software & test every system in your GM car. It's probably no good for doing performance tuning, although I wonder if that is not necessarily true???
