Default How to verify original color ?

I am looking at a 94 zr1, and wondering how I can verify what color the original exterior and interior was ? I know I can get a build sheet, but without having to do that, is there any way from VIN or vehicle codes to check this ?

I am a C2 guy that is used to checking trim tags.

Look under the PS rear storage bin lid all the RPO's and color will be listed (or should be).

The paint code is two digits followed by the letter "U".

The SPID label is attached to the back-side of the console lid. It's NOT in the rear. SPID is the equivalent of the trim tag you're familiar with but details the build in considerably more detail. You can for "ONE TIME" FREE enter the VIN here and receive generally the complete SPID label. You'll need to supply an email address that they can validate and they'll send you a link to use. It's a very legitimate outfit and there's no possible harm. They do automotive data for all sorts of manufacturers, insurance companies and the like:

http://www.compnine.com/vid.php

It's a one-time offering "for free" - you can of course subscribe if you like! The site has a slightly different appearance today than is customary but I believe you'll still get a "single" request for free.

What color exterior and interior presently and I can post the codes you should expect to see. You'll be looking for a few in addition to color. You can determine if it was built with "both" tops or if a single top which.

RJD - I didn't bother quoting your posted information but it's quite lacking. I would have guessed that a BOD member might have pointed out to the OP that with "membership" in the Registry this information and much more is readily available and I actually thought it was recorded by year and VIN specifically. I haven't looked in quite some time. I confirmed some information years ago for B Saveland and Jim Voter when they were compiling information and I also questioned what were considered builds for the '90 MY because the VIN sequencing was NOT to be found when proper VIN's were complied for what would have been those builds. It was later that the Active Suspension Cars were brought into the conversation.

'94 information is quite simple:

Interior ( I believe there's only 4)

143 - Light gray leather 14I - Light gray interior
193 - Black leather 19I - Black interior
643 - Light beige leather 64I - Light beige interior
703 - Red leather 70I - Red interior

Paint for '94

10U - WA9567 - Artic White
28U - WA128A - Admiral Blue
41U - WA8555 - Black
43U - WA9796 - Bright Aqua
45U - WA9539 - Polo Green
53U - WA9804 - Competition Yellow
70U - WA9075 - Torch Red
73U - WA9885 - Black Rose metallic
75U - WA9239 - Dark Red metallic

I don't believe I've overlooked any exterior/interior options that the OP should find on his VIN inquiry or the SPID Label of the car that he's looking at if a snapshot of it is supplied him by the seller or if he's having an "eyes on" inspection. His VIN request to CompNine should be complete with short descriptions of RPO's but if he's got questions he can certainly return here.

The .pdf I have is 18 pages long. I thought that information should get the non-member excited.
