Question What color is our windshield (tint)?

I need to replace my factory windshield due to a crack. I’m looking at getting some “tint” to match on a regular Corvette windshield.
(see this thread http://www.zr1.net/forum/showthread.php?t=18350)

I think our windshields have a slight reddish tint, correct? Or, is it just the reflection from my red Z?

I’d like to find something that had a tint close to our original KoolOf tinting, whatever color that was.

I know about LLumar Air Blue windshield tint (does it have a blue tint?)
http://www.llumar.com/en/AutoWindscreen.aspx

and 3M Crystalline windshield tint
http://solutions.3m.com/wps/portal/3M/en_US/Window_Film/Solutions/Markets-Products/Automotive/Crystalline_Automotive_Films/#

but I’d welcome other thoughts and suggestions.

My goal is to have the installer create a “cutout” to match our factory cutout too.

(No need to discuss the legality of tinting the windshield here)

It's more of a bronze however this is more due to the delamination effect over time

The Lumar product is the product that is most often discussed in the states where the sun/heat is an issue. I would think the results would need to suit the "user" more than anything else. Take a bright white color card and place it inside your windshield and see what you feel the results are. The trick would be taking the same bright white color card and place it on the inside of the windshield you intend to use. If you could gather a couple samples of the tint available and try it before the install I would think it most advisable.

I would do the same if I needed a windshield for sure. You only want to inquire "windscreen products"!

I've never seen the discussions for anything other than I believe the AIR Blue product. Perhaps a Llumar jobber can enlighten you more. I believe the skill level of the installer is likely more important than maybe the product here.

Good luck! Like I mentioned, it's what I would do.

Maybe consider Suntek. It looks like they have an 80% that'they call "black":

A prescription from the Doctor or Optometrist answers the aspect you didn't want "discussed"!

Yeah, you can clearly see the gold/bronze delamination around the edges of my windshield ... but most of the windshield looks red to me

New pic with a different angle ..

I'll take WV's suggestion of placing a white card inside and see how it looks.
