Default New car scanner

So I just got the software for my new car scanner (turns your laptop into a scanner). It's got a ton of features, but I can't wait to test the built in dyno and accerlation tests it has.

I sense some cold air intake tests in the near future .

Hey GC, I was looking at this software a few months ago and it was $197 just for the software. Then I looked again a week or so ago and saw they were selling it for $97 so I jumped on it. You will also need to buy the OBD II USB cord ($35 (for my other cars)) and the OBD I USB for the ZR-1 ($60). I also bought an inverter from Autozone for $25 (but not necessary if you charge up your laptop first).

Oh and yes it works on several platforms, Windows XP, Vista, 7 and 8. I haven't tried the data logging but it does have it. I really haven't had a chance to play with it yet. Only reset some lights on my pick-up.

It's software for your laptop, the program is called Scanmaster-ELM and is sold by Total Car Diagnostics. Not sure what you mean by which scanner, I use my laptop, just plug it into my car with the USB cords.

Gotcha. I thought you used a stand alone scanner plugged into your laptop and then this is the software for it. If I'd read your first post correctly you explained it pretty well.

On a related note, here is a forum of interest for scantools.
