I just had cats installed yesterday. Let me tell you, it's awesome not smelling like exhaust anymore.
Took the car on a 270 mile road trip, and it felt really down on power a couple of times. Once, it wouldn't rev past 4500. Felt like the power key was off. When I would push in the clutch on mountain switchbacks, the rpms would drop and kill the engine. Happened twice, scary stuff on a mountainside. When I got it restarted, I could again rev through the full range. So my question is, do I need a new chip burned after installing cats? Also seems like these issues may be unrelated, as I was at 9000-10000 feet at times. Car is 1992, SW headers, cats, B&B gen1 exhaust, haibeck chip for all mods but cats. Thoughts? |

I will check the pumps today. Injectors, coils and fuel filter were done 4 yrs and 7,000 miles ago. I think I'll replace the filter anyway.
I'm not sure of the cat manufacturer, but the body is 4" in diameter and about 4 to 5" long. They are those spun body cats. Part is 56956. |

Fuel pressure: 45psi KOEO, 42psi at idle. That is quite low, isn't it?
