Looking for opinions on best battery to get for the Z... does not need to be OEM for NCRS. Went out today for the Great Falls Cruize In and battery took a dump (I knew it was close to going so now the search for a replacement).

Re: BATTERY>>>
I have been hearing about AGM type batteries - suppose to be superior due to glass mat abosorbed in acid rather than straight acid. A brand called Braille specifically is suppose to be very good. Anyone know more about this?

Re: BATTERY>>>
Odyssey is about the best battery that bolts into a late C4 battery box and won't interfere with the left side firewall to frame brace.
I've had an Odyssey in my '95 for six years. In fact, I have them in all my cars except my C5 which has its original battery. When it dies, I'll put an Odyssey in that car, too. The Oddysey in my ZR-1 has performed in an outstanding manner. Can tolerate more deep cycles than most of its competitors. About 15% more plate surface area than the Optima. 760 CCA. 1230 pulse cranking (5 sec) amps. 3-10 year service life. The only downside? Well, you pay a high price for this made in USAproduct which performs so well. The 75-PC1230A is the one for ZR-1s. More info at http://shop.odysseybattery.com/produ...5.0.0.0?pp=12&

^^^ Very interesting. I had good luck with an optima red top on a jeep- the new owner says it's still ok, but did not like the fact that some hold down hardware does not work well with the optimas.
I have been looking for an excuse to get a new battery in the C6, but it will not die. |

I have a Walmart Everstart. It's been in for 4 years no problems. I figure for the price if it does not last long I have not lost much in cost. Plus Wally World is every where so if you have problems out of town while under warranty they are just around the corner. Just my 2 cents.
