Why would CF forum be against having a racing section? Seems to me that there's plenty of 'vettes being raced.

[quote=Jeffvette]Problem is the weatlh of knowledge that is over at CF[quote]

I agree, as one of the few reasons I spend more time over their is the amount of good data/info in archived posts....one other reason I didn't spend much time here in the past was the speed/connectivity issues, but that's been fixed.

That said, there are a variety of other issues that cause CF's ZR-1 section to have more posters. We have tried to give our members a place to express themselves without having to worry about restrictive moderation.
We started the Corvette Babes section(a success) and the Racing section(not so much so), both of which CF banned a long time ago. Additionally Carfax requests along with other petty things CF wont allow, we have no issue with. We have also run a few contests to stimulate the forum with some success. Overall the forum is a lot more active than it use to be, but there is still plenty of room for improvement.

We will keep on trying though.

Another thing that happens here is that group purchases/etc are supported by the forum ...I can't imagine that happening over on CF, for a multitude of reasons.

There is a autocross/roadracing section at CF. What there isn't is a street racing section. Although there used to be and it was decided to be yanked down for liability issues.

GP's do happen, they must be approved, and done through a supporting vendor on the CF. The Ron Davis would be fine as it was done through DRM....if it had been approved by the admins.

I'd say it has a lot to do with how much traffic there is. CF has a lot more posts than this place does, thus I tend to check there first as they get many posts per day, where this place does not. As the activity increases here, more will come. I'll still go there as there are some non-ZR-1 sections that I frequent, but I decided not long ago to try to post my questions here first as I think there is benefit to getting ZR-1 specific info on a ZR-1 specific site. There is a lot of knowledge there as mentioned, but I agree that there are a couple I wouldn't mind if they didn't make it over here... Of course there could be some thinking the same about me!

I hope that we can keep "our forum" it feels like home to me. If all of us would make this our first stop of the day we could really be surprised how our traffic might go up. I know that is a 'rose colored' view but I always make this my first stop of the day to see "what's up" with my brothers.

The CF has a great C4 section and for me as a rookie owner it is a valuable place to study up on the "other C4 issues" that are common to the generation. Besides the NE/Events section is where I hook up with fellow vette owners that go crusin....that's why I've put 10k miles on mine in two summers

I love the cars, but the stereotype rings so true it really sours me at times on vette ownership in general...
I was gonna sell my vette one time...because i heard that all guys that own corvette's have little dinkies...?? ...that is all
