Hey John, you are da man. As you know, I might be following in your footsteps. I am going to try to get away with doing like the guy here suggested that work with buying some cats with air tube and route direct from a.i.r. to the tubes, but not sure how that will work yet and if possible. Conversation only by phone so far. I am taking the car to the auto crafts shop to get an assessment. I really don't want to have to find a set of manifolds and go back to stock and like you won't want to r and r every two years just to pass an inspection. I can only imagine how many time you said the "f" word among a lot of others.

Craig, I am thinking that if you have to end up pulling the headers, maybe send them to Marc for installation of the air tubes for the air injection. Not sure what he charges but the stock manifolds probably won't be cheap to find.

Reading stories like this only reinforces why living in Florida is so great.

Thanks John. I think if I have to end up pulling off the headers and going will stock header/cats I will give up and just store the car in the warehouse at work then find some rice burning toy to use while I am here. I am thinking Nissan Skyline GT-R old school with all wheel drive and twin turbo......or a Honda NSX (Acura in US) and one of my all time favorite cars too.

Hey John,

I think my friends here in Japan found me an set of stock exhaust manifolds (header) with cats so I might call you and bug you if you don't mind for some advice (I have Magic Jack now). I will see what it comes with and hoping bolt s, shields and all. Any reason why you had to go with the stock exhaust system too? I would like to try to at least keep the B&B exhaust system. I probably will have some sound decibel issues for testing, but I heard there are some tricks for that. I only have to do this once for the initial testing and might want to put the headers back on after. Man, I am not looking forward to this....................

Thanks,

Craig

That's good news Craig. I didn't go with the stock exhaust, I left the Flowmaster on. You should be good with the B&B other then sound. Even then, if you don't have to rev the car up for a sound check, you might be OK. Call anytime, I am also interested in the Magic Jack, bills get ridiculous.

John

John, thanks for the info and being open for questions. Supposedly the guys here do some trick with steel wool wrapped and stuffed in the tips and held with a small screw after you are done remove. If those loud fart cans can pass then so should I. I really would like to get an X pipe on one day, but not here I guess. The best part is the guy does not want any money for the manifold/cats and is giving them away; WOW, I sure am lucky. Its from a 91 MY so it should be a direct bolt on (minus the cursing, cuts and playing contortionist to get the bolts in). As for the Magic Jack I paid the $70 for 5 years of unlimited calls so it seems like a pretty sweet deal and I have a US phone number to receive calls from friend and family like normal phone. I still can't believe I have to do this........
