Beautiful car! Do you belong to any Corvette club? I'm joining the Mid MO club here in Columbia. It'll be nice to have a fellow Z owner close by...although they say there is 2 other Z's in town..I haven't heard from them.

Welcome Jason and congrats on your purchase. The Mid Missouri club is a first class org. You'll have lots of fun.
As far as your power steering problem, check to make sure the mounting bolts are tight. I had one on my 91 loosen up and throw the track off just enough to make the belt squeel.
If you need anything don't hesitate to ask.

I beginning to clean the light amount of dirt in some areas of the engine bay...I'm wondering if leaving the hood in the up position for an extended period of time (days) is in any way hard on it?

I don't believe you'd damage the car...but...you would drain the battery
unless you disconnect the negative battery cable...

I wouldn't leave the hood open for an extended period with the under-hood lights on, as Keith says it will drain the battery. I just disconnect the lights while leaving the hood up.
