Default Rear sway bar

Had my 90 serviced yesterday and asked that they check the suspension system. No problem, just 75K on car.

Mechanic said I need "rear sway bar links and bushings" and quoted $535 parts and labor. Is this a fair price? It is a local Chevy dealer.

Thanks

John,
Seems a bit steep to me, maybe others can chime in. I have those very parts on order, getting ready to do the job myself. The bushings total are about $30.00. I believe you need a press to get the upper link bushing pressed out of the sway bar, but not a reall difficult job.

Thanks. He mentioned that they had to press the bushings in/out. He said it was easier to just replace the links also. Let me know how you do with yours.

Will do John....the bushings arrived yesterday. I probably won't get to installing them before departing for BG, will tackle when I get back. Also, I think I ordered the wrong size sway bar bushings, may need to re-order those (ordered 26mm, should have been 24mm). Doing everything in the rear, bushings area pretty shot after 20 years.
