Default Coilover too much spring?

I was at Dominic's tonight and he said he was not happy with Coilovers, said they are hard and bounce back instantly.

so while he was working on his car I was looking at his springs and they don't seem right. To me I think he has 12" springs which are too long. He said he thinks it is a DRM kit, but the coils on the springs look too close.

Dom's:

Mine (10" 425 rate Hyperco):

I just think Dom's is compressing on itself.. no room to go anywhere

what some of the other Coilovers look like?

Looks like your theory is sound.

not too concerned where it is from but more the spring..

I think if Dom switched to 10" springs the ride would get better

Hyperco springs are about $60 ea at Speedway motors

I would do 425 front/ 275 Rear

I wonder if one of the PO of Dom's BR swapped the springs, but Lee you might be right with Exotic Muscle for the kit since the car was down that way

Based on these pics Jeff you are correct. My springs (Hypercoils) like yours look just like yours. Doms are entirely too compressed. Hes riding on a buckboard at the moment or a nut crusher if your prefer. GC

Mine for comparision

Guys,

Thanks for the pics. Definitely the wrong springs. Not sure where they came from or what they are. I'm wondering if I just don't go ahead and buy the right springs trying to get them on before BG. The car literally bounces off the road when I hit a dip. Might explain the rubbing sound I get on a left hand sweeper. The rear tires are rubbing the inner fender well a bit towards the rear also.

Just spoke w Randy at DRM. He suggested the 400/275. He described it as a tight ride without being bouncy. I asked about the 425s and he said that if he swapped them after having 400s, I wouldn't be able to tell the diff if i hadn't already known. So if I wanted to stiffen things up a bit, I may try the 450s. If I can get them soon enough, I would cancel my alignment to put these on.
