Thank you WAZOO!!!
I just gotback from WAZOO HQ after reinstalling rear dogbone bushings (lubricated incorrect the first time...)and replacing strut bushings. Finally I declare my 94 completely restored to factory new condition (ok... still need thorough undercarrige cleaning)!!!
As some of you know this is my 2nd ZR-1 I bought in 2000 with about 30,000 miles. Since then this car has been my daily driver and by 2008 with 110,000 miles I knew I had reached a decision point - spend a lot of money at a shop of my choice or get rid of the car. Well, motor was running crappy (turned out to be injectors and vacuum), a lot of crappy suspension noise, needed new rotors, new clutch, new bearings, new U-joints, new shocks, so on and so on. Most of work needed could'nt be done without an access to a lift and good set of tools. To have all these work done by any shop would have cost a fortune! Well, luckly I ran into WAZOO guys in April of 2009. This gave me an access to a lift, faboulous setof tools and best of all all these guys with enthusiasm and knowledges. A lot of time various guys gave me invaluable tips as to where I could buy certain parts at incredible price and in some cases gave me parts that had come off their old car. As if all that is not enough would join me in wrench turning, tranny lifting, etc, etc... Most of the restoration was done by the last April and, of course, David found an incredible deal for properly repainting the car. Today I finished dogbone and strut bushings and the car drove just the way I remember my brand new 91 drove way back when. Actually, in some ways this caris better than my 91. Like I told Jim today from today forward works to be done will be performance mods - headers, P&P, so on and so on... I am so happy to have my car completed I could not resist but share my personal experience. Thank you WAZOO guys!!! |

You are welcome Yun. You have a really nice car and I like your approach to taking care of it. You have been an inspiration to all of us with your can-do attitude.
Jim

Re: Thank you WAZOO!!!
Glad to hear you've got your car to a point you're happy with it. It really is a looker at this point. I can only hope mine is as nice looking and running when it starts to see the the kind of mileage you and Jim both have on your cars.
Jim, we can't thank you enough for making your shop available to all the locals. You, Yun, Darrin and others are all part of a huge reason there are so many good running ZR-1's in the Maryland, Virginia, Pennsylvania, and West Virginia areas. Thanks. |

Re: Thank you WAZOO!!!
I have said before that I feel bad for other Z brothers that don't have the kind of support in their area that we have become accustomed to. I feel very fortunate to be a part of the WAZOO clan and enjoy working on everybody's cars. I'm sorry I couldn't join you fellers today, but occasionally us civil servants have to work. I'm glad the project went well and I hope you don't clean ALL my fingerprints off of the underside of your car Yun. At the next WAZOO WMD, I actually might work on my car for a change. This group of friends definately makes ZR-1 ownership much more enjoyable!

Yun,
Its a real pleasure to lend a hand to a guy with as much enthusiasm and dedication as you have for your ZR-1. With the loving care you give it I'm sure your Z will serve you faithfully for at least another 100,000 miles. Phil |

Yun, Glad you got it all worked out. Let me know when you want to start polishing EVERYTHING! I'll send my guys down to Jim's and Darrin can supervise for us. (if we can get him out of his climate controlled tractor)
