Sitting in traffic coming home from Bloomington Gold, somthing, really let loose clutch pedal is to the floor....(limp) and car was trying to lurch forward.

No fluids....I am guessing slave or throwout bearing....

Any thoughts?

Sorry to hear of the malfunction. Lee, just curious, did you buy one of those knock off slave cylinders ? I don't think it is the slave but if you bought one and it went bad, let us know.

I hate to hear that Lee. Unfortunately it sounds like the clutch fork may have sliped off the throwout bearing. Of course check to make sure the clip that holds your clutch peddle to the master cylinder rod didn't pop off and check the slave. But if those check out "THROWOUT BEARING". This has happened to me twice. The first time at 65,000 miles it just snapped in half. The second time it happened I think was because in the proccess of trying to stab the pilot bushing I may have gotten the fork cocked eyed. But if you have to, definately use a transmission jack and make some 12mm studs. Cut the heads off them. Its the best way to guide the tany in. Plus it almost guarantees that you stab the pilot bushing. Ever since I did it that way I havent had a problem and it shifts better than before.

Of course this is what it looks like when your done.

Ryans right. It could be allot worse. Like engine problems. If your one of the guys that do it for a living like Jeff Flint ,Corey or Mark H. then you can have it done in a matter of hours. But if you have a real job like the rest of us Hehehe! and you do this stuff after work or weekends then you want to take your time and learn as you go along.
