Default One more added.

I just joined the self P/P crowd. Got everything off yesterday ready to go. I found some old mouse turds under my coils. Found the source of my small oil leak. Just old injector housing gaskets. I couldn't remove the screws that hold the coolant horns that bolt on the side of the injector housings for fear of snapping the heads off them so I just remove them together. I would like to get everything repowder coated while I'm at it. Valve covers, plenum, injector housings. What kinda $$$ am I looking at to have it done for the stock finish?

I'm at 342rwhp 336lb ft torque last time It was dyno'd. Best 1/4 mile was 13.05@111mph. I still don't have headers yet. I just put the Fidanza on So with the P/P and headers plus retuning I don't know what to expect but I'm sure it will be better than it is now.

I don't remember who it was here on the forum, but awhile back someone made a very astute observation of the OEM gaskets for the coolant pipes to injector housings. They noted the silicone bead on the OEM gaskets did not seal completely AROUND the bolt holes. The added thickness of the silicone bead doesn't allow for full compression of the gasket where silicone is not present and lets coolant seep into the bolt threads. Presto! Corroded steel bolts in aluminum & a problem that found a place to happen.

Point of all this rambling is, don't use OEM gaskets for this application (use www.jerrysgaskets.com ). A little plug there!

Stainless steel bolts would also look good & last. The size is : M6-1.00 x 50

I agree. I could always take them to work and slap them on the mill and drill the siezed up screws out to put stainless ones in. Hell! Why not. Might as well. Cuz at some point down the road I might have to take them off and I'll be confronted with it again. Speaking of gaskets Jerry I'm going to have to order some from you. And all of the injector Orings.

1.) All Injector Orings.
2.) Air horn gasket.
3.) Throttle body gasket.
4.) Two 90 degree breather hoses(mine were as hard as a rock).
I've already got injector housing gaskets.

Whoa Whoa Whoa... the breather hoses are available? Last I checked about a year ago those were totally impossible to find! I didn't see any on the gasket website, but it's fantastic to see that there is a decent aftermarket source for gaskets now too!

Anyone want to work on making a vacuum spider?

Breather hoses... I need a beer if these really are available.

Jeff Flint is the guy to contact about powder coating. He just did the top end powder coating for one of my ZR-1s and for 2 of my brother's ZR-1s. He can do any color you want. his website is www.pnwzr1.com

I was thinking about going with Jeff. The powder coating work that I've seen of his looks really nice.
