hey, im new here. I havent bought my zr-1 yet but im working on it. My friend has an 89 zr1 all original, even with the original tires, and he is going to sell it to me for $8500, and i have to paint 2 of his cars. Does this sound fair?

Car is black...... no pics.

Correct.. Yeah get the VIN 1G1YY is the sign it is NOT a ZR-1..

1G1YZ is what you want

Hello and welcome to the forum.

While you will find a great number of us willing to help guide you and answer all your questions, may I suggest you look at this Q&A section to better familiarize yourself with ZR-1's.

http://www.zr1netregistry.com/ZR1_faq.htm

Based on the limited information, your friend probably does not own a ZR-1 even if it has ZR-1 badges. Hopefully we can help you find one so you can become part of the KOTH club. Here is a For Sale section link

http://www.zr1netregistry.com/ZR1_sale.htm

And this is the FS/WTB section of the forum

Think $8500 is fair, and a paint job.

What do you mean, "and a paint job"?
If you mean that you want or need to repaint it, forget this car as a repaint will cost $$$. If you have the money to buy this car and repaint it, you should definitely buy a ZR-1, as it is no ordinary Corvette. Just listening to the motor, much less driving it will convince you of the difference. The ZR-1 is not called the King Of The Hill for nothing.

This is also the best time to buy a ZR-1, as it is a buyers market. They are undervalued and will be going up in value like the other sought after Corvettes. So grab one now while you can get it at a reasonable price.
