Cam Cover Torque and sequence
I see the Cam bolt torque sequence in my shop manual.. I also see the torque of 15 ft. lbs.
What I don't see is where it says to repeat the process.. I have heard 3 times? so the other question shows the Driver side cover.. I assume follow it the same meaning the front 3 will be 25,26 and 27 in the sequence..

Re: Cam Cover Torque and sequence
My manual didn't say anything about repeating either. I did repeat one more time and found that the inner ones that were done first needed it. So I think it's worth while. As for the other side you are correct on the sequence.

Re: Cam Cover Torque and sequence
it is the same sequence on both sides and it is very important to do it 3 times.

How would you know, you've never done it! Yes, repeat the sequence three times (I just got done with two cars tonight). The front bolts are 89 inch pounds and save those for the very last and 15 ft lbs on the twenty-four bolts. |
