FX3 Selective Ride Control
I just received the Fault code diagnostic grounding plugs and the manual from Gordon Killebrew yesterday. Everything checked out fine except the Ride Control System. Each and every code showed up as a fault. Is there a main controller that might cause this to happen? I can't believe that each individual part of the system went out at the same time.

Re: FX3 Selective Ride Control
The brain is mounted in the compartment with the ABS controller.
I would clear the codes and then start the car again and go from there. |

Re: FX3 Selective Ride Control
The most common problem is the rod in the shock that turns to adjust the ride, it starts to bind and will cause the gear that turns it to break/strip. Some have had success making a new gear out of star washers after getting the shock fixed by Bilsteen.

Re: FX3 Selective Ride Control
Thanks for the help. I cleared the codes and got code 33 showing the LR out of position. Pulled the shock and the little gear on top has a broken tooth. Can this be replaced or does the shock need to go back to Bilstein?

Re: FX3 Selective Ride Control
Max, I have a 90 and I know that there was changes made in the system in the 92(?) thru 95's. I know Jeffvette made a thread and it's here somewhere.
In a 90 to clear all the codes you will find the "C" terminal pin on the ALDL connector. Ground Pin "C" three times, each "grounding" of the pin "C" will be for a duration of two (2) seconds. Tom

Re: FX3 Selective Ride Control
OK tom, i must put a cable to pin "C" and the "-" pole of the battery (or the body vehicle) for 3 times and evry time have 2 seconds of duration. It's right?
