Default ZO7

Was there a corvette model Zo7 back in the 90's? The reason I ask is I was having a friendly conversation on another site when this guy butts in and say that a ZR-1 was nothing more than a regular corvette with a different engine in it and that there are tons of places that can work on an LT-5. He said the Zo7 was a much better handling car than a Z was anyway and on and on and on. So I responded by saying- And like most people that shoot their mouths off! They lack the facts. #1 There is a bit more to a Z than just the engine. #2 No! Not just any shop can work on an Lt-5. #3 I've never heard of a Zo7. And #4 If you really cared to know the differences between diet coke and Jolt Cola then all you have to do is google it. But from what I've gathered it wasn't a very popular option. So if you guys know anything about it lets hear.

Z07 was the name replacement for the Z51 cars for several years. Z51 reappeared in 96 after disappearing in 91.

And on a autoX course, a stock Z07 will clock a stock ZR-1.

I'm thinking we stone Jeff to death at BG with old LT-5 parts.....its the only way to rectify this issue!

Lets put it to a vote!

I think the ZO7 has much stiffer springs than stock or the ZR and came with the J55 brakes. I dont know why the ZR1 didn't get the stiffer springs. But did a ZO7 have the adjustable suspension?

Jeff speaks the truth. I used to have a 94 with the Z07 option, it was one well balanced car. Certainly not a match for the ZR-1 in acceleration but it was definitely a better handling car out of the box. From what I recall the package included the 13in front brakes, 30mm front bar, stiffer springs, 9.5in wheels with 275mm tires on all four corners and a few other changes. Mine had the FX3, not sure if they all did.
