Default Mercury Marine

Anyone ever reached out to Mercury to see what they have left laying around and or anyone who worked on the project....might be interesting to invite them on the forum for a chat room some night to ask ???s.

I know they regularly answer inquiriues on boat claims, might have some folks still around from the day, but that was a long time ago.

Lee, not to many of them left as they have been getting extremely slow and cutting back as well. I imagine most of them were in their 30's to 40's when the program was running, and that was 20 years ago. I'll ask Greg the next time I talk to him.

Tell them they can relive their youth by coming to my house and putting my engine together.

To me (based on my readings Heart of the Beast) any one of the then employees who worked on the LT5 would love to 'come by' our forum and chat... great idea

All I can say is Been there, done that and it wasn't pleasant. GM must have put a gag rule on former assembly workers not to talk to owners. I took Anthony's book and tried to contact some people mentioned in the book. Got a hold of a few but nobody would answer any questions about the car. Very disappointing. I thought I was talking to the CIA. Must be a lot of controversy regarding the ZR-1. When an Okie won't talk to you, that's trouble. Apologies to OK members !!
A Texan.

Hmm maybe if beer and fried okra appetizers were involved in the quest for forum information

I wonder if "time in service" of the LT5 had anything to do with a possible gag order....ya know maybe they had a 10 yr rule from last mod. yr.?

I'm fairly sure that with all the trouble GM has on the balance sheet that the LT5 and any stuff related to it isn't worth their time to even keep track of by now...no?
