Default Catch Can hookup

I have my catch can hooked up off the PCV system, wondering if I should have them hooked up off the breathers coming from the heads into the air horn?

I have not measured it but seems like alot......I pulled the plenum to fix a vac leak and it was still coated in oil, even though there was oil in the catch can.

Wondering if the vapor is hitting the TB blades and condensing back into liquid???????????

I think the one in front of the TB, i.e. open to ambient pressure, is what allows air into the system. Presumably air shouldn't flow back to the air horn, though I think I've noticed oil in the air horn in the past as well.

Haibeck said that oil comes back up through the engine, maybe this was what he was referencing?

The pipes going into the cam cover are a fresh air intake. Under extreme circumstances should you actually have oil flowing from the cam cover to the air horn. If you did have that issue, the last worry would be oil in the plenum.

You could fab a system up to cap of the air horn inlets, and then use a another catch can with a open element breather on the top.

The PCV system is the main culprit, as it is a direct tie in with the plenum.

Bob is correct. The tubes from each cam cover to the air horn is for the filtered purge air to the crankcase.

I believe the catch can should be installed into the line between the PCV's & the plenum. That's where oil in the plenum comes from, sucked up through the PCV's vi the PCV system vacuum source. Here's a drawing I made to show how we are going to do it on the Raptor TT system.

"In" the TB or in the plenum behind the TB?

There's only 2 routes for engine oil to possibly get there & both have been addressed here, from the cam cover vent tubes (highly unlikely) & the PCV vacuum source which is the highly probable culprit. It enters the plenum right behind the TB.
