Aloha from Kauai!
Hi all.... Ellen and I are down in Hawaii for couple weeks of fun and diving...been on Kauai for about 5 days and getting ready to fly over to Kona....since we have been here the Vette count is (1) each for a C4 (can not claim absolutely it was a ZR-1 but in the 'pass in the other direction got a look a the butt' view spot a 'sticker' in the lower right corner but could not read), C5 and (2) C6s... also since we also own a new MINI Cooper S look for those too... (3) 1st gen models and (1) of the new R56 models in BRG...
Went to Waimea Canyon yesterday (also know as the Pacific Grand Canyon)...well for those who have done the Tail of the Dragon there is one on this island....what a hoot to drive this road leading to and from the canyon...constant turns and twisties for about 9 miles That is all...just saying hi and safe driving to all

Re: Aloha from Kauai!
In 1988 I took a trip to the big island Kona. It was beautifull there. You can drive around the whole island in about three hours. Went marlin fishing. But after about four days I was ready to come back to California. I had tickets to see AC/DC and wanted to get back in time. But hawaii is one of the most beautifull places on the planet. Enjoy your vacation.

Took a bike tour down it. The tour guide said that's the fastest he ever got to the bottom. We were having a blast. couldn't be bothered much to stop for the Info. LOL

Re: Bike ride...
Had to laugh...Some friends and I rented bicycles and road around Oahu. We peddled up to Punchbowl Nat. Cemetery, but on the way down our brakes gave out and we went flashing thru Waikiki at rush hour, doing about 40 and screaming "Look out- look out look out" till we were hoarse! Red lights, green lights...it was all the same. Somehow we all made it to a stop w/o hitting anyone or being hit! HaHaHa!! Talk about "Mr. Toad's wild ride!!"
Beautiful place. I was there on 5 occations - a crew member in Uncle Sam's "Haze Gray Yacht Club" P. |

Highway to Hana (54 bridges) and the road to the original capitol - Lahaina YOU SHOULD HOOK UP WITH CRAIG IN OAHU >> HAWAIIZR-1 if u get to spend some time b4 you fly back to the mainland. You need to see that engine of his and qualify that it is as pretty as it looks in the photos he posts. LOL

Re: Aloha from Kauai!
Yeah...the Hana road is great (we took a two-wheel drive car around under threat of death from the rental car company) and Haleakala is pretty too.
