Default Lokar dipstick for SSW headers?

Anyone have any success with getting a dipstick other than modifying the stock one? It would seem one could be made so I sent the specs to Lokar and picture of the tube, seal etc. I will send mine to them if that is what they need to make a custom dipstick.

Thanks!

Craig, you don't have to modify the stock one. You don't have to replace it with an aftermarket one either.

Jeff,

Thanks....please do tell me "how to". All I have read it the need to modify and when I trial fitted it with the SSW headers it appears I might be able to use the standard bolt with spacer as with stock if I bend the tab a little. But the header design does not seem to have the space. I'll give it another shot tomorrow if I have a chance and post a pic. Many people have said I have to cut off the tab and have it repositioned to bolt it back on. I thought if I could get a flexible Lokar it would be easy and have a custom look at the same time.

Craig, you use one stock bolt and spacer and you fab up a small 2.25 inch long flat plate and drill two holes. One for the stock bolt and the other for the bolt that holds the plate to the dipstick tube. I've got another 94 I need to do one for. I'll shoot some pics.

Jeff,

Thanks; I really appreciate it. I understand and will try to fab this up.

Jeff,
Did you take the pics?
Love to see them.

I am still toying with this, but it is pretty good already and solid with modifying the bracket from a stock SB Chevy stick. I was going to add a clamp to the header bolt it seems good to go already.
