Fidanza Flywheel
I'm looking for some feedback on the Fidanza aluminum flywheel from people who have one. My understanding is in order to benefit from significantly less weight, one has to be willing to accept "some noise at idle. How many people out there have one and what are your thoughts?
Please keep in mind I understand the upside, I'm looking for feedback on the downside issues and your thoughts. Thanks. |

Re: Fidanza Flywheel
It is a subjective question. The noise/rattle from it drives some people crazy to the point of putting back in the original. To others, the added benefit outweighs any noise. Their are still others that say they barely notice it, but then again they typically have no cats, an x-pipe, and B&B's so they barely here 747's going overhead..

Re: Fidanza Flywheel
mine's quite noisy...it doesnt drive me crazy (i already am) but very annoying...i heard somebody (rippie?)makes something that's halfway between the stocker and the fidanza...compromise??
at 1500-1800 rpm,it does sound like my tranny is ready to fall apart !! i was wondering if there is a way to trim the stocker a bit without weakening it? bj 91/1735 4:10 p plenum & ih borla exh,no resonators lucas injectors |

Re: Fidanza Flywheel
Anybody know anything about a "halfway between the stocker and the fidanzaa" flywheel?
Sounds like it could be a winner if it existed. |

Re: Fidanza Flywheel
The Rippie flywheel was a re-worked Camaro flywheel, nodular iron like standard flywheels. It weighed about 22 lbs (as near as I recall without researching it) It is still a single mass, weighs significantly less than the OEM dual mass.
Nothing you can do to lighten the stock dual mass. Quote:

Re: Fidanza Flywheel
I believe Callaway sold a Centerforce single mass steel flywheel also.
