Default PCV hosed

to keep it simple, rookie Z owner...

one: why would someone cut each end of the PCV hose and leave it in place? and where can I get a new one.

two: after disconnecting/reconnecting battery and starting up engine, what would cause a POP! and a big puff of smoke to come from under the front of the plenum?

three: any good LT5 shops in south Texas?

1) Idiots? I dunno. www.whiteracingproducts.com The original has been discontinued, he sells a silicone replacement piece.

2) Not holding the key over long enough. Blew the map sensor hose off of the back of the plenum 99% of the time.

3) Henderson Performance in New Braunfels 210-867-6286, Tell him I sent you.
