Default X pipe replacing the middle muffler?

Like the title says I?m looking to replace the middle muffler on my aftermarket cat back with an x pipe? Does any manufacture just sell a 2.5 inch x pipe for our cars? Thanks for any info

I went with two MBRP straight 3 inch resonators on my 90, no drone, with open first generation Borla mufflers. I had a BB x pipe on my 95 , drone was bad.

The origin of the "X-pipe" for our cars was Al Dashto and Pete Polatsidis (of Fast Boys of Illinois, [aka FBI fame]), IIRC. Experiments with his car's LT5 showed a 25 hp gain on the (inertia) dyno as result. Later Stainless Works picked it up and then B&B and others picked it up now.

Yes, it drones. But, one can avoid the 1800-2200 rpm resonance region with gear selection...most of the time. Ad for the added zip it is worth the aggravation (I hardly notice it anymore - have adjusted my driving habits so as to avoid it. Besides! It is music to my ears and to wife Ami's as well [she has her own ZR-1 with the B&B exhaust and "X-pipe"])

I hear that B&B's "FUSION" cat-back is one way to go and avoid drone. AND, then there is the CORSA cat-back which uses resonant cancellation techniques to get rid of drone (w/o sacrificing performance).
