Default Emissions for 1990 and 91 ZR-1s in MO?

Ami and I are looking to vacate IL and possibly move to SE MO (in the Van Buren region - in the Ozarks (think hilly, beautiful, great people!).

Question: What are the emissions requirements in MO - outside of any metro areas - far as emissions requirements go?

We have both 90 and 91 ZR-1s, but my 90 (in particular) had the AIR system wrecked when my bumper got smooshed back in 2014 and was never replaced (OBD-I emissions exempt in IL).

Thanks in advance...

P.

Google is your friend. Here you go Paul:

https://dnr.mo.gov/gatewayvip/v-owner/need-test.htm

First para:
You need a test if your vehicle is:
--Gas-powered vehicles 1996 and newer or diesel powered vehicles 1997 and newer.
--8,500 pounds or less.
--Registered in the following areas:
St. Louis City
St. Louis County
St. Charles County
Franklin County
Jefferson County

Looks like you will need a safety inspection though. Getting out while the getting is good, eh, Paul? I feel like doing the same before Illinois enacts an Exit Tax! --Bob

Good luck with the move. I did the same and escaped from Toronto.

depending on the county, their are no emissions test, I live in warren county which is about 2 1/2 hours from where you mentioned, soon you will save enough in taxes to pay for a 415 or one of Pete's builds.

You guys are killing me. I want to go with Paul. Taxes too high, politicians corrupt and owned by the unions and other special interests. But kids and grandkids live around Chicago so my wife won't go. I suggested we buy a place somewhere in Missouri or Arkansas, kids could visit for vacations, I could go down there and she could come when she wanted. She said, "Goodbye and don't send me the address". --Bob

Welcome to Missouri! There will be a required safety inspection - which costs $12. It's basic. As long as there's no cracks in windshield, lights all work, brakes work, exhaust doesn't leak, horn works, etc you're good. The shop I go to just pulls it in and fills out the paperwork. No emissions anywhere in the state for 96 and older. Newer vehicles in St Louis and Kansas City metro must get emissions and safety. I'm in St Charles County which it's required in. My truck is diesel so it doesn't need it and my other 2 suvs are new enough they don't need it yet...👍

I've had family recently move from here in Illinois down to Tennessee. I understand why. I've lived all over, Florida, Texas, Iowa, Hawaii, and Cali ( which can fall into the sea for all I care) But when is all said and done, Illinois is my home. No matter how screwed up we are as a state. Also I don't think I would want to even mess with all this emissions crap in other states... It would turn me off to owning a classic car of any kind.

But I wish you and your wife safe travels no matter where the road takes you...

Thanks BUT! That said, we haven't committed to anywhere yet...except getting out of IL. And, like you, emissions is a concern...and ad velorem taxes (5 vehicles and 3 of them being Vettes)
