Persistence pays off.
I finally scored a 42U , turquoise metallic ZR1 emblem. My car was missing one on the right side of the hood. A previous owner not sure of how it came to only have one. No holes were drilled so it's only tape holding it on. I was going to have it removed by my detail guy but he recommended leaving it. He was concerned an outline would be there from just having it taped to the hood. I had been searching for 2 years going to Carlisle and eBay. My eBay search used ZR1 bumper emblem or just ZR1 emblem. I decided to try just ZR1 bumper when it turned up after several pages. It was under 70 miles away located in Maryland. There are now unpainted versions being sold through Ecklers or Mid America . Most would prefer NOS rather than have to paint or pay to have one or more painted. You just don't know when you will find what you are looking for. Not sure why the ZR1 bumper emblem or emblem search didn't include the one I was looking for? The sellers tittle included the words ZR1 bumper emblem . If by chance it was a fellow ZR1 net registry member I say thank you very much.

1991's did not have the ZR-1 emblems on the hood. GM didn't start with the hood badging until 1992.

Re: Persistence pays off.
I know...but I sourced and added (red) ones to my '91 also. I heard from very good sources that they were each worth +25hp, easily the best bang-for-the-buck performance mod!

Re: Persistence pays off.
Sorry about popping your bubble, but....
Red emblems add nothing, the whole car has to be red to be the fastest! And of course, with the most power! 😀🏁 |

AND! I know for a FACT that they will FLY too! (But! All kidding aside, Ami has a "turq" Z, a 91 that had emblems added. Nice to know about availability of replacements!)
