My wife can't drive a stick either. I've offered to teach her on one of my other cars, but no interest. Seems to be more interested in getting an automatic Vette sometime. I smell an additional Corvette in my future.

I let my wife try it in my previous Corvette. I'm not sure she's interested in trying it again.
![]() Nothing bad happened, though. She stalled it some, etc, but nothing it couldn't take. |

Mary Jo drove #364 many times and several times over 100 mph. She even drove it when it was in full race trim although she didn't like how loud it was then. She liked it more when it was quieter. Before the 3" SS exhaust she would even take it to the grocery store or shopping. She liked to drive it. I would not ride with her driving unless I had been drinking and she had to drive. I would much rather she just take it and go by herself. I think she told me she once got it up to about 130 on Central Expressway in Dallas. Since she bought the car for my birthday in 1998, she had the right to drive it when ever she wanted. And I didn't mind anyway. It thats all it took to keep her happy, go ahead on. :-)

Yes! My wife is a good driver. She lived in Germany for many years and drove the autobahn a lot, so she is used to 100+. I will say the HP of the ZR-1 is intimidating for her though. She enjoys her Cooper S.

My wife has had a lead foot all her life. When we bought the 92 coupe she took it in to get tires on it. Said she needed to check the balancing and took it up to 120 on 101. In the 94 Z when I hammer it she seems very comfortable with the power and braking plus she likes the speed. She drives the Z whenever it is a nice day. Sure glad she enjoys the vette's as much as I do or nealy so anyway.
![]() PS She does not like all the money I spend on the vettes's. |

Not too long after purchasing my ZR1, I asked wifey, (Terri)
if she'd like to drive it? She replied, i really don't like to ride in it much, too loud and you drive to fast.. ![]() |
